Commitment to Sustainability
At on demand., sustainability isn’t an afterthought. It’s embedded in everything we do—from the way we curate our collections to the way each object is made, packaged, and delivered.
We believe the future of design lies in responsibility: to our planet, to our makers, and to the communities we serve. That’s why we work with brands and designers who share our vision for a more conscious industry—creators who prioritise longevity over trends, produce only what is needed, and choose materials that are as ethical as they are beautiful.
Many of our pieces are made-to-order or produced on demand, reducing overproduction and waste. We favour local manufacturing and digital production technologies that leave a lighter footprint and support circular design principles. And we are continually pushing to minimise packaging waste, carbon emissions, and excess at every step of our supply chain.
But more than anything, we believe sustainability is about intention. About making fewer, better choices. About creating with care. And about designing a world we actually want to live in—not just for today, but for the long term.
Reused Packaging, By Design
When your order arrives in a reused box or with minimal branding, know that it’s on purpose. We actively collect and reuse packaging materials—cardboard, protective fill, and cartons—from our studio and local community to give them a second life.
This small but powerful choice helps reduce waste and lowers the environmental impact of each shipment. It may not look perfect, but it reflects something we value deeply: doing what’s right, even if it’s not shiny or new.
Where new packaging is necessary, we prioritise recyclable, biodegradable, or FSC-certified materials. But wherever we can, we reuse—because thoughtful design shouldn’t end with the product.
